Offering hope to the young victims of the Chernobyl Nuclear accident would not be feasible without the efforts of many people and organizations. The business and service community of the metro Boston area has come to the assistance of the project and continues to offer support for its future. The children benefit from their generosity ranging from fundraising dollars to donated products, services and events.
The Medical Community
The Health Care Industry of the Boston area has responded with great compassion and generosity. The children are triaged in Europe by our medical team who usually visits in the spring. Those with detailed complex medical problems are evaluated at The Boston Floating Hospital, which is our tertiary referral center. Less complicated cases are seen by primary care practitioners in the community. Diagnostic clinics are held at Caritas Norwood Hospital, Saints Memorial Medical Center, Saint Joseph’s Hospital and South Shore Medical Center.
Dental problems may be extensive and are treated by local dentists. For more complex dental issues, service is provided by Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM). Laboratory testing and emergency care is often provided by community hospitals. Eye care, medications, prostheses, and other medical items are donated by local businesses.

Most services are provide free of cost through the kindness and beneficence of the wonderful individuals and institutions of the Greater Boston Medical Community. We cannot adequately express our appreciation to these many people.
