The men, women and children of the United States who have worked on the project agree: it has been a privilege to assist these children. They are a proud people, proud of their heritage, nationalistic and patriotic for their homeland. These children are the only hope of a culture and society some have forecast is doomed for extinction because of Chernobyl. The Chernobyl Children Project USA, Inc. assists them to preserve who they are, supports their families and neighbors, and offers hope to live.

“The dimensions of the human tragedy called Chernobyl are vast and complicated, the results of human error and foolishness.
“But I believe the dimensions of love and justice are far greater, especially when human beings can work as one to restore life, dignity and hope. I hope and pray that we can respond with courage and faith and work as one to bring hope to a forgotten, shattered people.” — Fr. Bob Bowers, Board of Directors Chairman Emeritas, Chernobyl Children Project USA, Inc.
